What is the THG bonus?
THG stands for greenhouse gas reduction. Owners registered as keepers of eligible fully electric vehicles can have a flat-rate electricity quantity certified and marketed as part of Germany’s THG quota system. The provider pays you a bonus for this.

Who pays the THG bonus?
Your contractual partner for the application and payout is Geld für eAuto. StromNow refers you via a partner link. The Federal Environment Agency certifies the quota; it does not pay out your bonus.
Which documents do I need?
You need your current German vehicle registration certificate. Register with your name and email address, upload a legible photo or scan of the unfolded front of the certificate and enter your bank details for the payout.
Can I apply for a leased EV?
Yes, if you are the registered keeper and the vehicle meets the requirements. Check that the THG quota for the relevant year has not already been assigned. The partner checks the documents.
How much is the bonus and when is it paid?
The amount and payout time depend on the current partner offer and your selected payout option. You will find the binding terms at Geld für eAuto before you apply.
Can I apply more than once for the same year?
No. The THG quota can only be marketed once per vehicle and calendar year. For a used EV, check whether a previous keeper has already assigned it. Also check the assignment period in your contract.
Do I need a home charger or a StromNow subscription?
The vehicle-based THG quota uses a flat-rate electricity quantity. Your own home charger and a StromNow subscription are not required. You apply through Geld für eAuto and its eligibility conditions apply.
